Living Alone

For this first time in my life I’m living alone, i.e. not living with anyone, not sharing a house, not living with the olds etc. I’m alone……

It really is quite a weird sensation, and I’m sure the novelty will wear off in due course, but I must say that I am surprisingly enjoying it.

The old Yamaha surround sound system has been getting a real work out (I love the new Metallica Album), on Sunday I slept in until 1pm for the first time in I don’t know how long! If I want to have a 45min shower… I can (and I did…shhhh). For the first time in a long time I decide what I do, when I do it and for how long…

There is however one downside… cooking for one. Not being able to afford takeaways is a good thing, because I am being forced to cook and not take the easy option.

Mum bought me a cook book titled 4 ingredients. It really is quite good, and I think I will actually use it!

Just for referance, on the menu for tonight is Kangaroo Herb & Garlic steaks, 3 min steam veges & mashed potatoes with herbs…. yum!!!

  1. The only reality is that we are all alone even amidst the luxury of crowd or friends or loved ones. That’s the way.

  2. This cooking for one business sucks big time! I always hated cooking for a family, but I think cooking for one is worse.
